My first successful collaborative project

When Erika contacted me earlier this year to join her Scrapbooking Project, I had some doubts (see my this previous post). I tried another telecollaborative project last year but most of the workload was on me. Probably students had not felt involved.
I cannot say this project was not hard work, but I felt encouraged by the fact that my students worked hard too.
Erika sent me a survey for my students and their answers to the last two questions represent how they felt about the project:

  • In what ways have you changed after this project? What have you learned from it?

I learned to share with my schoolmates
I learned how nice it is to participate in international projects
I learned about the culture of other people and countries
I understood English a bit more.
I liked to meet people from another country.
I learned many new words and phrases
I learned to read and write better than before
I have a better relation with my classmates.

  • Would you like to participate in an international project again?
    YES (12) NO (1)

Have a look at my students' album and some of their photos.

Listen to a recording I made for Erika (too long for her allotted time at the Congress):

    Hello dear!
Although we've never met, you are such an important person in my life! Thanks for posting about our project. It wouldn't be a success without your dedication and enthusiasm! I will post it in our school web site next week, so that all my school community has access to it!
    Love
    Erika

Thanks for your comment, Erika. It was a real pleasure working with you. You are an inspiring inspired teacher. You and Carla make a wonderful team! Such a pity there's no Internet connection at school to get our students blogging!
Let's keep in touch for future projects.
