Drop me a post-it note!

As soon as I found this in Graham Stanley's blog, I thought it would be great idea to create a space for informal messages exchange. So I entered Webnotes website and easily created my workspace.
In a couple of hours my fellow bloggers have already been around leaving their kind notes and my workspace already looked colourful.

This is how you can do it too:
1) Enter Webnotes
2) Choose a username and click on "Load". That's it! You already have your Workspace.
3) Add a link in your blog or website
4) To post a note you click on the yellow box in the toolbar, type the message and save it (diskette icon). You can choose the colour of your note by clicking on the colour boxes on top.You can also use some HTML code to add a link or a picture.

You should be able to access your webnotes from the links or just by entering their URL in any computer.

Now this is what I found on the Webnotes page:

If you’re running Windows, then you can customize your
desktop and have webnotes on your desktop. Here’s how you do it:

1. Open Display Properties (right click on your desktop and select Properties)
2. Select the Desktop tab and then click the Customize Desktop button.
3. Select the Web tab.
4. Press the New button to add a webpage to your desktop. It will ask you for the web location. You can copy/paste it from your web browser then press the Ok button.
5. Finally, press the Ok button and the Apply button. You should now see your webnotes on your desktop.
You can resize it by dragging the edges and you can move it by hovering your mouse over it until the titlebar appears and dragging the titlebar. You can also maximize it to take up your whole desktop.

I foresee several uses for these webnotes: jot down ideas for future posts, comment off-post quickly and informally, send personal messages or reminders... Maybe you've got some more ideas.

Claudia,
thanks for the clear tutorial on webnotes. I believe they are really useful and lovely as well. I see their main potential in these off-post comments which don't need to have anything to do with a specific post, but you only want to communicate a message to the blogger. Great. When I learn to use them more effectively, I will definitely use them for my scattered comments of certain web pages - some extra information that I would otherwise write down on a piece of paper and then most probably would never find it again. Post-it note sticks, and that matters! :)

Hello Maria Claudia, your wonderful step by step instructions made it possible for me to add post-its to my blog. I plan to create a new more structured blog with a clear objective in mind once the BaW and Co-blog sessions are over (and my present trimester as well). Thanks for always sharing such wonderful finds. Let´s keep in touch. ;-)
