Is it raining again?

This part of the country has a mild oceanic climate. Average temperature in winter is 10ºC/50ºF and 22ºC/70ºF in summer. That sounds great, doesn't it? But there are often freezing days in winter (around 2/5ºC - 35/42ºF) and some suffocating days in summer, when temperature climbs to about 35ºC/95ºF. (Click here for a nice temperature converter) What makes heat almost unbearable sometimes is the humidity (average 70%).For a chart with all the statistics, click here.
It doesn't snow here, but it often rains, though not as often as in Europe, I guess. Only once did it snow since the city was founded in 1882. That was in June 1918. Below you can see a photo of that curious and unique event. The building in the picture is the Government House.

Now for my personal impression, I believe that winters used to be harsher in my childhood and summers, hotter. I haven't been able to wear my thick sweaters or my fur coat these last few years, nor have I felt so utterly stifled by the humid heat. This summer in particular has been cool and rainy. That's why I decided to stay at home blogging!

P/S: For an updated glimpse of today's weather in La Plata, have a look at the weather sticker in the footer.

Dear visiting friends,
Although Sus'promised prize never got to my mailbox (does this sound like a complain?, well it is!) I feel more than happy with the progress I'm making with a tool I'd never used before Blogs06. And my most precious reward is the regard you show in your comments.
Thanks a lot for coming
